About Me

My name is Kieran Bartlett and I am a NESCOL student currently studying Media and Communications in my second year. I have lived in Stonehaven my whole life but am now thinking of moving to Aberdeen once i get into Robert Gordons University. I have always liked the though of having a career in journalism or media of some type. In school I chose subjects such as Photography, Business and English which would feed into the course I do now. Gig Review - Little Simz

Little Simz has come a long way from being an opener act for Schoolboy Q on his tour many years ago. She has slowly worked her way up the ladder from her first release in 2010 to her most recent tour for her critically acclaimed album No Thank You. The album in question received a nomination for the British Album Of The Year, a Libera Award for best hip-hop album, a Mercury Prize  and finally a Best Album at the MOBO Awards. This tour took place in a sold out O2 Arena in Glasgow on the 7th November 2023. The opening acts were perfectly chosen giving the crowd a little teaser for what the vibe of the concert would turn out to be. The first act was Hak Baker who gave a interesting performance with his unique rapping/singing style. Best known for his songs that appear on FIFA the crowd was intrigued and exited for more. Most Anticipated Rap/Hip-Hop Albums In 2024

This year is set to be a big year in the music industry, especially for the rap genre. Many big names, new and old have been either confirmed to be releasing music or rumoured to release music. Fans have been eager to get the year underway after somewhat of a lackluster year for the community. Albums such as Utopia by Travis Scott, For All The Dogs by Drake,  A Gift And A Curse by Gunna and A Great Chaos by Ken Carson to name a few were the standout hits of this year with other albums not hitting the mark or going unrecognised by the mainstream media. Some may say 2023 was a experimental year for artists trying to expand the range of music they put out however for most it was a forgetful year with artists not capturing the fans attention as much as they have in the past.
